Fusing the likes of Deception and Trust, Foresight and Spontaneity, Aggression and Tactfulness, the Xavier’s Commerce Society is humbled to announce that Insignia is back with its 7th chapter, to uphold the sanctum of peaceful management amidst the heart of chaos. 

Growing with every step, this year we have expanded the Nationals with a new event.
Joining the ‘Business Plan’ and ‘Business Quiz’, we have ‘Advertising’ to elevate Nationals to unparalleled heights.

ADVERTISING

“Be relevant by doing interesting things that people like to share, like or comment on.”

This is the bedrock on which the entire paradigm of social media marketing rests and this shall be the rationale which shall drive the participants as they battle it out in “Advertising”, our online marketing event. The goal is simple; create a Video & a Print Ad so good that people are forced to ‘like’ it. It takes a genius marketing mind to understand what the people will relish, and to sell them exactly that! ‘Advertising’ is here to test exactly that; whether you have it in you to reach out to your audience. So put on your thinking caps and join us as we take you through a never-felt-before experience!

 

RULES & REGULATIONS:

  • This event is open to undergraduate students only.
  • A team can register only once (Multiple Registrations lead to disqualification).
  • A team can have members from different colleges.
  • No entrant can be part of more than one team.
  • Team size: 2 participants per team.
  • The organizers reserve the right to make any changes to the event, format, date, rules and any matter related to this event, at any time before or during the event.

 

GENERAL GUIDELINES:

  • There are two topics, i.e., ‘Brand Wars’ and ‘Societal Marketing’, on which the participants have to base their submissions (either one).
  • The submissions must include 1 Video and 1 Print AD.
  • The duration of the video should be between 00:45-1:00. The video must be rendered in MP4 format. The Print Ad should be an image in JPG format with a resolution of 300 DPI.
  • For sending across the Video, you have to upload it on YouTube via your own account and change the privacy settings to ‘Unlisted’. Once the video has been uploaded, you have to send across a mail, containing the link of the video, to insignianationals@xavcomsociety.com.
  • In the mail, you must attach your Print Ad as well. The mail should contain the following details:
    • Names of Team Members
    • Emails IDs
    • Phone Numbers
    • College (of both the team members)
    • Year of College (of both the team members)
  • Acceptance of the same shall be communicated to you via an e-mail.
  • The video shall be uploaded on our Youtube Channel and the Print AD on our Facebook page. The objective is simple: Get the maximum possible likes on both the Video and Print AD.
  • The last date for submissions is 21st January, 2015.
  • It is a one-round event, with the winner being decided on the basis of the submissions.
  • The winner shall be decided on a cumulative basis, involving two parameters:
    • Judges’ Decision
    • Number of likes against submissions on Social Media.
  • The last date up to which the likes shall be counted is 12 Midnight on 30th January, 2015.
  • Plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.
  • The materials should not contain any objectionable content. Obscenity and Vulgarity will lead to rejection of the materials and disqualification of the team.
  • Acceptance and rejections of submissions are governed by rules and regulations of organizing committee and completely on their discretion. In case of any conflicts, call of organizers would be final.

BRAND WARS:

  • The participants are free to choose any two companies for the purpose of depicting this topic. They are completely free to choose which company they shall be representing, and who shall be the rival company.
  • However, there shall be no direct usage of any existing company’s name or logo.
  • If the participants want to use any name or logo, it should be suitably modified. Example: ‘Gucci’ could be changed to ‘Fucci’.
  • It is imperative that the video and print ads are able to explain which companies or what situation is being showcased.
  • Non-adherence of any of the above rules shall lead to immediate disqualification.

SOCIETAL MARKETING:

  • The participants are free to choose any relevant issue or social campaign on which they want to base their submissions. Example, Swachh Bharat Campaign.
    • The video and Print Ad must not have any religious, political, caste or communal bias.
    • It must aptly highlight the issue being dealt with.
    • Non- adherence of any of the above rules shall lead to immediate disqualification

 

B – PLAN

We give you all a platform to showcase your ideas to re-shape the world according to your Business Plan. If your concepts are path-breaking enough, you may even walk away with your own seed funding!

Rules and Regulations: –

  • The competition is open only for undergraduate students.
  • Each team can submit only one entry. Multiple entries from a team are not permissible and will hence be disqualified.
  • A team can have members from the different colleges.
  • No entrant can be part of more than one team.
  • The judgment of the panel will be final and binding.
  • Team size: 2 individuals per team.
  • All participants are required to carry a valid college/institution photo ID to the venue without which participation will not be allowed.
  • Plagiarism will be penalised. References, if any should be cited clearly ·
  • The organizers reserve the right to make any changes to the event, format, date, rules and any matter related to this event, at any time before or during the event.

GENERAL GUIDELINES: –

  • Participants need to register for the event first.
  • After registering, participants will get a confirmation mail with their Login ID and Password.
  • The Log In feature is present below.
  • Initially the participants will have to submit an executive summary of their Business plan.
  • The participants can Log in on this website and then upload the executive summary of their Business Plan in PDF format only.
  • The last date for uploading the executive summary is 21st January 2015.
  • The shortlisted participants will then have to come to Kolkata for the final round in the last week of February.
  • The participants can stay updated about their progress through the Login id and password provided.
  • Acceptance and rejections of business plan and executive summary of business plan are governed by rules and regulations of organizing committee and completely on their discretion. In case of any conflicts, call of organizers would be final.

 

B QUIZ

What better way to put your knowledge into practice than a quiz? True to its past reputation, this year too the Insignia BQuiz promises to be a riveting adventure that embraces high stake calls, quick decisions to test one’s will and challenge judgements. Like in the previous years, the Nationals this year, aims to bring the best quizzing minds in the country on a single platform and enable the battle of the titans. The dice has now been set rolling; Join us on this incredible journey to seize the most coveted title of glory!

Rules and Regulations: –

  • The competition is open only for undergraduate students
  • A team can register only once. (Multiple registrations will be subject to disqualification.)
  • A team can have members from the different colleges.
  • No entrant can be part of more than one team.
  • Team size: 2 individuals per team.

  • Participants will have to choose the slot for the online quiz from the list available at the time of registration.
  • The dates for the online quiz are 25th and 26th January 2015.
  • Please book your slots at the earliest, as there are limited registrations in each slot.
  • After registering, participants will get a confirmation mail with their Login ID and Password.
  • In order to take part in the quiz the participants will have to log in on the website through the username and password provided.
  • The last date for Registrations is 21st January, 2015.
  • The Log in feature is present on the below.
  • The online quiz will be held only at the particular date and time allotted.
  • The shortlisted participants will then have to come to Kolkata for the final round in the last week of February.
  • The participants can stay updated about their progress through the Login id and password provided.
  • In case of any conflict, decision will be taken at the discretion of the organizing committee.
