Ravi Iyer, Para Vayu, Blue Frog, Soul Alive

In the words of the legendary Led Zepplin, “It’s been a Long time since i rock and rolled!!!!” Well, it had been a long time since Dhinchak went to enjoy an awesome gig!! What better place to go than Blue Frog and what better band than the brilliant “Para Vayu.”  Yes, on 12th April, 2011 it was the launch of their latest album “Soul Alive.” The album features Soumitra Bhat (voice), Ravi Iyer (guitar) and Crosby Fernandes (bass) – who together are Para Vayu – joined by Lindsay D’Mello (drums), Rhys D’Souza (saxophone) and Neil Gomes (violin, flute).

True to the album name, all tracts were filled with soul and life! The song they performed last named “Seven Eleven” was a tribute to the 7/11 attacks which was really heartfelt a must hear for every Dhinchaker. A memorable evening filled with the legendary Ravi Iyer’s smooth guitar solos, Rhys D’souza’s feel on the saxophone and the entire band giving you a mixed bag of some delightful tunes can only make me say one thing…this Dhinchaker is going to have their album on his shelf. I suggest you do too!!
