MUMBAI GETS JUSTICE
Ajmal Kasab hanged at Pune’s Yerawada Jail today morning. The 26/11 Mumbai terror attack convict was hanged at 7:30 a.m after the President Of India rejected his mercy petition on November 8.Maharashtra Chief Minister, Prithviraj Chavan admitted that secrecy had been maintained over Kasab’s execution as they did not want to compromise the security situation in any way.
Ajmal Kasab was shifted out of Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail and sent to Pune’s Yerwada Jail two days ago which is meant for convicts and has provision for their execution. Moreover,sources said that when he was asked for his last wish and whether he had a will, Kasab said no. Also, Kasab’s family was informed.
“His execution is a tribute to the victims of 26/11 attacks,” said Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil. As said, Mumbai will be waking up differently today after eagerly waiting for four years.
