Mini Review – Lootera
After winning almost every possible award for “Udaan” , Director Vikramaditya Motwani is back with an story inspired by O.Henry’s “ The Last Leaf ” (Google Zindabad 😛 )
Well, the story is set in 1950’s , so sab old & antic jo museum main rakhi hai, you’ll find it in this movie. Right from antic Cars & Bullets to old zamindar ki haveli. Vikram and the team has done amazing job with the detailing. The direction is class apart but very slow (maybe it’s a movie you should watch it like a whisky , ekdum aaram se.. mazza leke 😛 ) This might bore the audience (I saw many people playing with their phones in the movie hall L ) But movie buff and the people who appreciate cinema (all your bong friends ke mummy-daddy who still has a gramophone in their room 😛 ) will surely love it and cherish it. The cinematography is excellent. Performance is good by Ranveer & Sonakshi. However, the characters are very simple without many complications, so at certain places it seems very dry and draggy to watch them. Music ke liye full marks to Amit Trivedi & lyrics ke liye Amitabh Bhattacharya ko. Right from Sawaar Loon, Shikayatein, Ankahee & Monta re all are just soothing and beautifully composed. But topping all of them would be Manmarizyan sung by Shilpa Rao (listen to this one.. sach main jannat hai 😉 )
So, overall watch this one only if you like such kinda of movies warna pura bore marega and you will keep playing with your phone & talk and disturb other people.
3 stars from me . Truly a beautiful movie in recent times.
P.S. – I got a Gramophone in my room 😛 and I drink whisky ekdum aram se 😉
