Mini Review – Bombay Talkies
Apna Bollywood turned 100 this year and as a tribute to this great industry , 4 mega giants of the industry – apne KJo, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banarjee & Zoya Akhtar showed their respect and tribute in their style via Bombay Talkies. Well, Bombay Talkies is a combo for 4 stories directed by each of them which symbolizes the art of cinema. Each of them is a made with full love and dedication (trust me, this would be one such work, jo sabne dil se banaya hai.. no worries about investors and distributors .. picture paisey kamaye ya na kamaye, public dekhey na dekhey..just pure cinema) Starting with
Karan Johar (hats off to this guy.. kya baap performances nikalwaya hai) Excellent story with super good cinematography and detailing. Perfect casting. Loved the flow of the story and how it ends..(ekdum zabardast) class performance by Rani, Randeep and this guy Saqib Saleem (dude, you rock!!!)
Dibakar Banarjee – The story is good (not excellent ) but what makes it extra ordinary is the performance of Nawazuddin . The snippets about the chawl life in Mumbai is portrayed excellently. However, it becomes weak and draggy but the performance compensates for every loophole.
Zoya akhtar – The story is good (still not excellent). The depiction of a male dominated house and the middle classness is shown very good (but somehow it didn’t work out for me) The performance by the kid playing the lead is amazing!
Anurag Kashyap – I am sure only, nobody better than this guy can portray the madness called Bachchanism on screen so excellently . The story is simple but class apart (talliya and seetiya for this one) . Vineet Kumar Singh is the perfect choice for this character. The highs and lows of the story is amazing (I am sure, you will enjoy this one). The Bachchanism surely makes people go wild and do bizarre stuff, hence proved.
Music is also amazing! You will love Murrabah and Bachchan song! Great job by Swanand Kirkire , Amitabh Bhattacharya & the music genius Amit Trivedi
Do go and watch this one! Worth a watch
4 stars from me for this amazing combo. A big hug to Viacomm 18 & Ashi dua for delivering this to the audience
