Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology (RAIT) is one of the oldest and most reputed colleges in Navi Mumbai. In the thirtieth year of its existence, RAIT has already carved a prominent niche for itself in the field of Education. Even then, RAIT is known as a ‘daringly different’ college. Horizon, their cultural festival, is the longest running college festival in Navi Mumbai happening at RAIT for the past 20 years. Started in 1992, RAIT supersedes itself by bringing forth bigger and fresher events every year and giving students from around Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane, a huge platform in an arena of dynamic enterprise.
This year, Horizon turns twenty and this reflects in their ‘Night’ events which turn out to be the biggest crowd pullers every year. Submerge Entertainment, in association with Horizon, will be having a War of DJ’s amongst their most famous DJ’s Nawed Khan and Anish Sood. The host for this event is none other than the most popular music show anchor in India, Nikhil Chinapa and it is one evening where the stage is set for dancing to the best music with the best sound available in India.
The Live in Concert last year featured the Indian Rock Star, Suraj Jagan. This year, we have Benny Dayal who will be enthralling us with his repertoire of a variety of songs that will surely leave the crowds mesmerized. Benny Dayal has been singing in Bollywood movies, for nearly the past decade and the chartbusters every year has his songs mentioned!
RAIT has a vintage tradition of Metal Music. Unchained is now regarded as one of the biggest Open Air Metal Concerts in the Country and has been a Launchpad for some of the biggest Indian Metal bands, namely, Demonic Resurrection, Zygnema, Infernal Wrath, Grimmortal, Wired Anxiety, Bhayanak Maut, and many more. This year we have approached bands from Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai to perform live at Unchained.
We also have a footfall of over 20,000 students every year over those three days on account of the hugely popular day events. The crowds throng these events and participations are at an all-time high. The list of Events include: Amazing Race, Agog (Film Festival), Raaga (Musicals), True RAITian (An Intra RAIT Event), Literary events, Paintball, Bike Treasure Hunt, Maze of Death, Cage Football, French Cricket, Box Cricket, Carnival, Informals, Poker, Black Jack, Pool and many more. The creative team will be unleashing their creativity by organizing a one of a kind exhibition of Photographs and Paintings. The theme for this exhibition is Haunted House and it has never been attempted by any college before.
RAIT’s major sponsors for Horizon this year Hindustan Times, Karyd Magazine, Red 93.5 FM, Bisleri, Inorbit Mall, Shiamak Davar Institute of Performing Arts and numerous others. This year RAIT’s theme is ’72 hours of Madness’ and they’re all set to go all out to make this an unforgettable experience for everyone. So the only question left to be answered is, “ARE YOU READY?”
