Dhinchak Mini Review – UGLY

After winning acclaims at Film Festivals in Cannes and New York , Director Anurag Kashyap is finally back with a super drama cum thriller bang “UGLY” . Amazing story, Amazing direction, class editing and upar se Acting of the characters; you surely cannot wish more for this weekend.

So starting from the script. Kashyap has very well integrated real life on the reel life and has given a very natural look through out (Ek bhi scene main nahi laga k yaar yeh toh kuch jyada hi kar diya, real main aisa thodi hota hai.. no cars flying and breaking law of gravity, no dumb item numbers..no such bullshit! just pure reality in cinema) . From the location to story to dialogues to performance everything just goes with the flow. The script takes amazing twists and turn and will make you hold on to your seats (I didn’t even take a small pause to check my phone or take a piss :P) . Direction is what sets this movie apart from the league. This movie has many characters but still you will know each of them very well in a very short time frame (well, that is something only a genius Anurag kashyap could deliver). This movie has no hero or heroine or a villain but still the characters are the one who makes UGLY so interesting and will make u glued to your seat. Performance ki list is very long likhte likhte review khatam ho jayega 😛 but in nutshell I just loved each and every character…full on faadu hai boss! you cannot miss National Award winner Girish Kulkarni and his character of inspector Jadhav…perforance par excellence (watch out for the 1st scene of Girish when Rahul tries to lodge a complain at the police station..super baap! 😀 ). Rahul Bhat kills it in his character, perfect emotions and powerpack acting.. boss! Majja aa gaya 😀 . Ronit Roy is awesome as ever (but same strict inspector role like in last few films, but chalta hai.. he still kills it everytime ). Vineet Kumar Singh, another gem of an actor, delivers a powerful performance and his dialogue delievery…waahh! Zabardast! Siddhant Kapoor (aaaoowww lolitaaa:P Shakti Kapoor’s ka beta) also delivers a promising performance, but a short role. The female leads Tejaswini Kolhapure and Surveen Chawla were also good. Music itna tha nahi but background score was thek thak.

So overall, jyada dimag mat lagao, book your tickets now! Trust me worth every penny.

4 stars from me for UGLY and a great bow down to the genius Anurag Kashyap .
