Delhi Safari ki Sawari
Delhi Safari ki Sawari
Delhi Safari is an upcoming bilingual stereoscopic 3D animation film directed by Nikhil Advani. It has been produced by Krayon Pictures (a Pune based 3D animation studio). The film features the voices of Akshaye Khanna, Govinda, Suniel Shetty, Boman Irani, and Urmila Matondkar. The screenplay of the film is written by Girish Dhamija and Suresh Nair. The film traces the journey of five animals and birds from Mumbai to Delhi. The music of the film is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, while the lyrics are penned by Sameer. It is India’s first stereoscopic 3D animation feature film.
Delhi Safari is the story of a journey undertaken by a cub leopard, his mother, a monkey, a bear and a parrot when the forest they live in is on the verge of destruction. Builders have encroached upon their forest and the animals decide to go to Delhi and protest in front of the parliament and ask the parliament some very simple yet sochnewali questions – Why has man become the most dangerous animal? Does man not understand that if the forests and the animals don’t exist, man will cease to exist?
The cast of the film said that they find the message in the film so relevant to today’s times and it is important for every citizen of this planet to fight to save the earth.
Urmila Matondkar gave voice to the leopard “Begum”, who in this film leads the group of 5 messengers to Delhi to voice their concern for the wellbeing of the animals and fight against deforestation. Akshaye Khanna voices the parrot, Alex, who is the voice of the animals to mankind. Swini has voiced the club leopard, Yuvi. It is Yuvi’s idea to not run away from their homes (forest) and take a team to Delhi to the parliament to fight against deforestation.
But the main problem is that in a government where even humans shouts can’t be heard will they listen to animals? When we asked Nikhil Advani this question his answer- as predicted “we have to watch the film to find out”. He also added, “This film is very close to my heart. I am humbled to see the passion and the support the film has garnered by people of such high repute. What started out as an entertaining film has now also become a movement that builds a cause for a better tomorrow.”
When we asked whether it was easier for him to work on an animated cause he didn’t have to tolerate any “sweet request” of the actors, he said that “even I thought so but unfortunately it wasn’t true, not the actors but I had to tolerate that nakharas of the animators”
So an advice to all the future filmmakers out there- chahey kuch bhi karo iss line me tho nahkhara tho jhelna hi hoga boss. Good luck. And a good news to all those who work behind the scenes – dude abhi tumra bhi value badgya hai…karo karo nahkre karo…sab jhelenge.
The trailer is really awesome, and the 3D effect of an Indian film is pretty awesome. It is gonna be quite an experience for the people who watch it and I must add that after Ice Age 2 – meltdown which was also on an environmental problems, this safari is gonna (lets hope for it) gonna be a wild ride.
